A great choice for home-style cooking. I have already tried out many of the dishes on the menu and have been enthusiastic about everyone so far. The prices are also fair for the quality and quantity. The beer garden area is also very dog-friendly and the staff very nice.

You are immediately infected by the special atmosphere when you come to the Gosenschenke. Characterized by a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff! The venison goulash is particularly recommended. There is also home-brewed beer from the house. Really a must visit if you want to stop off in Leipzig.

Super Service. The food is down-to-earth, well-made German cuisine. From salad plates to baked camembert to aspic and pork knuckle, everything tastes very good! Plus Gose and a great beer garden. The hygiene concept works.

We had a nice evening in the restaurant's beer cellar. The service was entertaining as well as attentive. The portions of the food were sufficient to fill you up or you still have the option of enjoying a starter or dessert.

Super delicious food and nice, courteous staff. We preferred to sit inside with our dog and were provided with water for him. The gose is great, personally I like it a little sweeter and can highly recommend the mixed goses. We will be back! (or are just back here and write this 🤓)

The food and beer are amazing, if not to say world class. I seldom drank and ate something so good (the Edelgosse and the pikeperch are great). Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the food.

Very nice and courteous service! The reservation was for 12 noon, due to the arrival we were already there at 11:30 a.m. and were assigned our seat. We were able to order drinks immediately, even though the opening time is only 12 noon. The food and beer were very good. We really spent a few wonderful hours! We'll definitely be back soon, ordering through the site was very easy. I can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

So personally I liked it. The meal took a while, but it was also very well attended, down to the last table. I think the prices are normal, but especially because of Corona ... everyone should be aware of that. Gladly again ;)

Great place great food great atmosphere

Visited the Gosenschenke again on August 22, 2020. Have never been disappointed so far and were again completely satisfied this time with our visit from Berlin. Super nice service, food tastes good and nothing works with the award-winning Edelgose from our own home! Thanks to the team!

We were there today for the first but not the last time. Nice atmosphere, followed by friendly service and the food plentiful and really tasty. Price performance fits. Recommendable

Very cozy beer garden in the middle of Leipzig. The kitchen was exceptionally good, very fresh and very tasty. The staff are super nice too and the prices are okay too. We drank a Gosebier for the first time, with a different taste but very tasty. If we're in Leipzig again, we'll definitely come back.

A traditional Saxon restaurant with a brewery. In the lower hall we saw bags of malt for brewing beer. The halls are on two floors, the fact that the basement is small for a small company. The halls are spacious on the top floor. If you ask, they will show you your favorite table of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, at which he likes to drink beer, being in Leipzig. Large selection of beer, both local Leipzig and brewed here. Beer of its production of light varieties. Unusual taste of schnapps made in Leipzig, with a chocolate flavor and the tastes of herbs. The portions of dishes are large, salad and hot can not be overpowered. Take one thing. Delicious beef with sauerkraut and potato dumplings, a traditional Saxon dish. Delicious fried trout in a huge plate. We decided to buy beer with us, so it was still warm, freshly brewed. Recommend.

While eating some hearty and delicious meal with good beer you can appreciate a piece of local history in this place.

Always a pleasure coming here. In the winter it's nice and cozy inside and in the summer the beer garden is the best. Nice selection of what I consider traditional German food and if you like the Gosen beer, this is the place. Service has always been nice and friendly, which is always a pleasure since polite service is not normal in German restaurants.

Great traditional German food. Menu changes sometimes, if you're an English speaker, still ask for the German menu because the dinner items are the most up to date. Chill biergarten in the summer, make reso's because the inside isn't too big.

Nice selection of gose beers and good beergarden fare. Not too touristy. Well worth the trip out of town.

Wonderful garden and a reserved table. Fabulous service from our waiter and my husband enjoyed the beer. The food was very fresh and we liked having such good options for vegetarians . We even bought a glass to take home to remember our lovely dinner.

Lovely place with great atmosphere, cheerful staff, and an impressive menu full of local and general German specialities. Beware: the portions are very generous!! They have a dopple gose on the menu that is pretty unusual, as well as an amazing kümmelbrot (caraway bread) liqueur. A must-visit on a trip to Leipzig
